How do I export my client information from AVImark for the SMS blast?

This article will walk you through exporting a file in Excel spreadsheet format with all of the information needed to send out your practice's SMS blast.

Step-by-Step Instructions

Step 1: Open AVImark to the default view.

Step 2: Click on the Work with menu, then on Information Search.

 

 Step 3: Click on Clients in the Category menu.


Step 4: Scroll down on the right-side menu and click on AVI Clients With Email Addresses, then click Done.

 

Step 5: This should bring up a window with the following search conditions already created:

 

Step 6: Click the button on the far-left side of the toolbar to start adding another condition.


 Step 7: Choose Client from the list and then click Next.

 

Step 8: Keep the Search based on a particular Client field value option selected and click Next.

 

Step 9: Scroll down and click on Phone, then on Next.

 

Step 10: Click on the dropdown and select "is not blank". Then click on Finish.

 

Step 11: Make sure your Search Criteria tab looks like this:

 

Step 12: Click on the Report Criteria tab and make sure that it has Account Number, Last Name, First Name, E-Mail, and Phone all listed under Report Fields. If any are missing, add them by clicking on them in the left-hand list and then on the right-facing arrow button. When finished, click on Search.

 

Step 13: You should be shown a list that has all of your active clients that have an E-mail and a phone number in their record. Click on Results from along the top menu bar.

 

Step 14: Click on Export. We will change the File Name and CSV options in the next few steps.

 

Step 15: First, click on the three dots on the right side of the file name text box. This will open a Save As window where you can choose a location to save the file, as well as give it a name. Be sure to save the file somewhere it is easy to find, like your computer's desktop.

 

Step 16: Next, click on the Merge Format dropdown under CSV options. Select Custom Format.

 

Step 17: Click on Export to create the .csv file.

 

Step 18: You can check the file to make sure that it has all of the correct information. .csv files can be opened with Notepad, or with any spreadsheet program like Excel. That's it, you're done!
